How To Block Someone On Everything

How Can You Block Someone From Everything

To really break the relationship you have to go beyond the social media platform.

If there is a person you do not really want to get in touch with again, whether a former co-worker or former partner, you should first delete him/her from all your social media accounts.

However, you may have more digital connections with people than you think. Contacts come from everything — from live streaming music services to app-tracking apps. So if you really want to cut someone, you need them to move everywhere.

We cannot cover every single forum in this list, so do a quick survey of everything you have on your phone to see if there are any other apps you may need to fix a contact with.

Google Maps

Google Maps lets you share your location with real people. This feature is useful for keeping track of kids and meeting friends, but it's not so much fun for the former. From Google Maps on the web, click the menu button (three lines, top left), then share location, and manage your location. Click the X next to any name to remove it from the list — that person will no longer be able to see where you are on Google Maps.

Apple Find My app

Speaking of Apple Maps, sharing your location is tied to the wide Find My app, which is designed to track everything from lost iPhones to real people. To view and adjust who you share your real-time location with, open the Find My app on your iPhone or iPad, and switch to the People tab. Find and select the name of the person you do not want to stay connected with, then select Stop Sharing My Location.

Spotify

Your Spotify audio history is not very sensitive to personal information, but you may still want to prevent people from seeing it. Spotify friends can share music with you and attach messages to it, so if you do not want anyone to contact you, you will also need to disconnect here. To block someone with the Spotify mobile app, tap Home, then the gear icon (top right), and View profile. There, go to Fans to see who's next, select a name from the list, then press three dots (top right) and Block.

Apple Music

Like Spotify, Apple Music has a feature where other people can see what you are listening to, although in this case there is no way to directly share music or send messages. To check who's following your listening activity, open Apple Music on your iPhone or iPad. There, go to Listen Now and press your profile picture (top right), then View Profile. Scroll down to your fans, tap the three dots to the right of any word, and select the Block option.

YouTube

YouTube no longer has a direct message feature, but you can still find unwanted contacts by leaving a comment on your content. To prevent someone from connecting with your videos, click on their username, and switch to the About tab. Once there, right-click the flag icon and select Block user. They will still be able to see the videos you post publicly, but they will not be able to leave comments on them.

Strava

Your fitness apps can reveal a lot more than you can imagine about your activities, including your daily running or cycles. If you are connected to Strava with someone you no longer know, you can block them by going to your web Strava dashboard and clicking Followers at the bottom of your profile picture. Click the gear icon to the right of the person you want to block and select Block Athlete to terminate all relationships.

Apple Fitness

Apple Fitness encourages you to share your work with others to stay active and on the go, but when the time comes to cut someone you can do it from the app on your iPhone. Open the Sharing tab, tap the name of the contact you want to block, and select Delete friend from the list. After that, they will no longer be able to see your work or find you through Apple Fitness.

Fitbit

Fitbit also allows you to add contacts who can see any information you choose to share on your profile — from your daily count of steps to your real-world location. To prevent someone from seeing anything on your Fitbit profile, log in to the mobile app, press Today, and go to your profile photo (top left). Select View All Friends, find the person you want to disconnect from, press three dots on his profile, and Block User.

Goodreads

The Goodreads Complaint component allows users to share ideas and recommendations with other readers, so the forum has a solid set of social features. But you do not really want certain people to check or send you messages via the site. To disconnect, visit the profile page of one of the contacts via the Goodreads desktop website and click on More (to the right of their profile picture). There, just click Block this member to do just that.
